Haven Homes in Maple Plain, Minnesota, has once again been named the No. 1 nursing home in its size category in Minnesota on Newsweek’s America’s Best Nursing Homes for 2026 list. The recognition marks the second consecutive year Haven Homes has earned the top spot for Minnesota nursing homes with 50 to 99 beds, underscoring a sustained commitment to excellence in nursing home care.
The repeat No. 1 ranking places Haven Homes at the forefront of nursing home communities in the state and highlights a consistent focus on quality outcomes, resident experience and compassionate care.
A Recognition That Reflects the Haven Homes Community
“Being recognized as the No. 1 nursing home in Minnesota by Newsweek, for the second year in a row, is truly an incredible honor for Haven Homes,” says Administrator Josh Brown. “More than anything, it is a reflection of the people who make up our community—our dedicated staff, our wonderful residents and the families who place their trust in us every day.”
Josh notes that the recognition affirms Haven Homes’ commitment to creating an environment where residents feel at home and valued as individuals.
“This recognition affirms what we strive for: creating a place where residents feel at home, cared for and valued as individuals,” he says. “It speaks to the compassion, commitment and heart our team brings to their work, and it reinforces the importance of the relationships we build within our community.”
How Newsweek Selected America’s Best Nursing Homes
Of the more than 15,000 Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes nationwide, Newsweek and global data intelligence firm Statista evaluated communities located in the 33 states with the most nursing homes. Only 1,200 communities earned recognition in 2026.
Nursing homes were assessed using four key pillars: performance data, peer recommendations, accreditations and resident satisfaction, with clinical performance data carrying increased weight in 2026 to reflect the growing emphasis on measurable quality outcomes.
What Sets Haven Homes Apart
“At the heart of Haven Homes is our team,” Josh says. “Their dedication, experience and genuine care for our residents truly set us apart. They go above and beyond each day to ensure not only excellent clinical outcomes, but also meaningful connections that enrich residents’ lives.”
He also highlights the strength of Haven Homes’ campus model, which offers a full continuum of care while maintaining familiarity and continuity for residents.
“With a full continuum of care—from transitional care to long-term care and senior housing—we are able to support residents through different stages of life while maintaining familiarity, comfort and continuity,” Josh says.
Equally important, he adds, is the experience of residents’ families.
“We prioritize communication, personalized care and opportunities for engagement so that everyone who walks through our doors feels supported and at home,” he says.
Focused on What Matters Most
While the repeat No. 1 ranking is meaningful, Josh emphasizes that Haven Homes remains focused on the everyday moments that define exceptional care.
“While we are honored by this recognition, what matters most to us is continuing to serve our residents with compassion and excellence each and every day,” he says. “This award is meaningful, but it is the daily moments—building relationships, providing comfort and supporting families—that truly define who we are.”
He adds, “We are incredibly thankful to our staff, residents and families. This achievement belongs to all of them, and we are privileged to be part of such a special community.”
Haven Homes remains committed to growing, improving and finding new ways to make a positive difference in the lives of those it serves.
